John Krieger, 85, died on February 2, 2025. He was the son of Walter and Laura Krieger. He is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie Ash, sons; David and Andrew, grandsons; Jackson, Dylan, Karl and Ian, and three great grandchildren; Benjamin, Amelia, and soon to be, Murphy.
He was a woodworker, woodcarver and craftsman, inspired by and passed down from his legendarily craft-oriented parents. He loved his family, friends, his cottage in Edenville, and Native American culture and history. He had a sensitivity to him and had compassion for the marginalized.
John was a dedicated science teacher in the Highland Park Schools for over 30 years. His room held an amazing collection of fish, small mammals, amphibians and geological samples and he organized wonderful annual science fairs for his students.
After retirement, he and his wife, Valerie, traveled the world, living out his lifelong dream.
He will be missed forever by those who love him.
A memorial service will be held in his honor by the family at a later date.
Please consider a donation in his honor to the ACLU.
