
NEWBALTIMORE - Frances “Fran” Mary Corti (nee Taddia), 87, of New Baltimore, Michigan (formerly of Sarnia, Ontario) died peacefully on August 6, 2021 surrounded by her family. Fran was born in Detroit, Michigan to Harold and Mary Taddia. She was a graduate of Mackenzie High School and had many roles over the years but her primary roles were wife to Frank, mother to her three children and grandmother to five grandchildren. Her wit, laughter, storytelling and warmth drew people to her. She married the love of her life, Frank, in 1958, and they lived for 60 years together until his death in 2019. They had the kind of love you dream about. She loved to travel, dance and attend concerts with him. She managed the financials of his orthodontist office network, and worked in a number of Sarnia charities prior to moving to New Baltimore. They raised three children together. She loved to cook, entertain, garden and read. She wrote 2 cookbooks highlighting the family recipes which she learned from her mother and grandmothers as well as the recipes she created over the years. She was very proud of her Italian heritage, and made sure that the family traditions were known and practiced, especially at Christmas and Easter. She was always excited when her grandchildren would participate and learn. She was the center of her family, and treated everyone with respect and kindness. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren,and was very proud of each of their accomplishments. Everywhere she went, she made friends, and kept in touch with many of them across the years. She loved spending time with her friends, enjoying lunch and tea with them. Beloved wife of the late Anselmo “Frank” Corti. Dear mother of Linda Corti (Suzanne Carter), Deborah Corti (Robert Pleydon) and Katherine (Martin) Simmonds. Proud grandmother of Riley, Raymond and Ryann Simmonds, Bret and Daniel Pleydon; they were the light of her life. Dear sister of Arnold (Linda) Taddia and the late Kenneth (Patricia) Taddia. She is loved and missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 11 from 9am until the time of a Funeral Service 1pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Homes 13650 E. 15 Mile Rd., Sterling Heights, MI 48312.
