Huff, David Edward 10/20/1939 - 9/7/2022 Brighton David Edward Huff, born October 20, 1939 in Lapeer, Michigan to Edward Otho Huff and Agnes Arthur (Brown) Huff passed away peacefully on September 7, 2022. At the time of his transition, he was surrounded by his children, James David Huff (Debra), Steven Douglas Huff (Barbara) and Mary Katherine Huff-Earnest (Ronald). Dave was raised in Detroit, Michigan by his mother and grandmother (Ina Brown). He graduated from Mackenzie High School, Detroit, Michigan in 1958. In 1961, he joined the Detroit Police Force of which he served 11.5 years. His second career of 19 years was as an investigator and his last career of 12 years he co-owned TLC Collison of Howell, MI. Since moving to Brighton, Michigan in 1969, he fondly served the community thru many years in the Brighton Lions Club, the Brighton Masonic Lodge #247, Scottish Rite 32 and Moslem Shriners. In addition, he was a volunteer thru the American Cancer Society serving at the St. Joseph Mercy Brighton Cancer Center since 2010. Besides his love for his family, working and volunteering, he had a passion for cars, enjoyed wood working and gardening. Dave is survived by his eight grandchildren (Matthew, Nicholas, Joshua, Danielle, Andrew, Nathan, Wyatt and Adam), five great grandchildren (Madison, Grace, Owen, Emme and Nora), five cousins (MaryKay, Carol, Bill, Raymond and John) and many wonderful friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys Marie (Hughes) Huff, parents, grandparents and his cousin, Janis. Services to be held at Keehn-Griffin Funeral Home, 706 W. Main Street, Brighton, MI 48116 with visitation on Saturday, September 10th from 5pm 8pm and Sunday, September 11th from 12:00-3:00pm & 5pm 8pm with a Masonic Service at 6:30 pm. The Funeral will be held at Keehn-Griffin Funeral Home on Monday, September 12th at 11:00am; followed by a graveside committal at Greenwood Cemetery of Fowlerville, Michigan where he will be laid to rest.
