Bart John Starks was born on January 21, 1950, in Detroit, MI, and passed away suddenly on May 22, 2023, in Southfield, MI. Bart is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Debbie, children, Todd Starks and Marina (Joe) Hurst; sister, Diana (Jim) Steiger; brother, Alan (Karen); stepdaughter, Jen (Scott) Gollbach; stepson, David (Kelly) Tatman; grandkids, Collin, Jared, Kylie, Natalie, Joe, Sam, Mallory and Davis; and great grandkids, Aria and Sterling. He was predeceased by his parents, Jay and Audrey Starks. A graduate of Lawrence Tech University, Bart was a man of many talents, including musician, baker, restauranteur and expert grape leaf roller. He was proud to be the owner of Club Bart in Ferndale, and is loved by the many employees and friends he made there. Bart was a pillar in the entertainment community, supporting many local bands and comedians. Bart took special care of his yard, and loved sitting outside with Debbie watching the birds. He was a devoted dog dad to Mia, Lucy and Zoe. In the end, Bart's sudden departure from this world leaves us with a heavy heart, but also with an immense sense of gratitude for the time we had with him.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, the time of the Memorial Service at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Road, Berkley (two blocks west of Woodward Avenue).
