Debra Ann Casey Carter Green, Rn was born on an army base in Fort Knox, Kentucky on December 5, 1954. she was born from the union of Barbara Casey and Charles Leonard Casey. Her mother moved her to Deteroit, Michigan when she was an infant. Debra excelled in school and sports. she is a Mackenzie High Class of 1972 graduate and earned her Nursing degree from Wayne State University and harper School of Nursing. Debra was a sports enthusiast who blossomed in dance, gymnastics, softball, cheerleading, bolwing and fishing. She quickly rose to the top of many endeavors that she pursued includeing making cheerleading captain for four consecutive years during her tenor at Wayne State University for both basketball and footbaoll teams. In 1974, Debra married her high school sweetheart, Tom Catledge Carter and bore three children from that union. In 1993, she married Larry Lige and one child was born from that union. In 1998 she married her current husband John E Green and has remained married to him for the past 10 years until the date of her death.
Debra was a vivacious family orienteated person who had a strong love for family, friends and her beloved pets. she always put her family first and there was nothing that she would not do for her circle of criends and relatives. Debra was well known for her cooking, organizing picnics, parties and social events. She was an outstanding bid whiz players. Debra took pride in her career as a registered nurse and had a great passion for servicing her patients from pediatrics to home care nursing. Debra also had a career in teh airline industry and real estate.
Shge is survived by her loving husband; John E Green, brother, Thomas Lee Price Jr., four children: Tommy Carter, Jr., Delisa Carter (Arron) Lockridge, Tiona (Thomas) Jones and Larry Lige, Jr. Father, Charles Leonard Casey, four grandsons; Raquan Moore, Adrian Carter, Amair Lockridge and Amer Lockridge. One granddaughter, Christian Jones. Uncle, Edward Smith, Cousins: Leola Branch, Glen Whitehead, Renice smith, and Edward Smith, Jr., Goddaughters; Kish Jerry-Blanch and LaToshia Cobb. Debra is predeceased by her mother; Barbara Casey, Grandmother; Rosie Lee Clayton, Grandfather: S.V. Evans, Aunts: Bernice Smith, mattie Mae Brancy and Clara Thompson. Cousins Maynard Smith, Gail Branch and David Charles Ratcliff. She is survived by a host of other relatives friends, loved ones and a large California and Mississippi base family.
