Harilyn Denise Hildreth-Swain, was the only child born to the late James and Doris Hildreth on November 17, 1954, in Detroit Michigan
At a young age she accepted Christ as her Savior. She frequently went to church and studied the Word. While growing up, Harilyn was a student in the Detroit Public Schools System subsequently graduating from Mackenzie High School in 1972.
After high school, Harilyn attended Wayne State University where she obtained her teaching degree in 1977. She later went back to receive her Master's degree from the same college.
For 34 years, Harilyn was a dedicated and passionate teacher for the Detroit Public Schools System - only retiring due to health reasons. Her greatest joys were helping the youth learn and preparing them to advance in life.
On a personal note, Harilyn loved to go shopping, spending time with family and friends, traveling and reading. Music was something she was very fond of, especially gospel and R & B. Watching movies and television was also one of her favorite hobbies, particularly those in the horror genre. Harilyn was very business oriented. While she was still teaching, she was an independent consultant for the Butterfly Boutique.
