In a time when black and white kids just shouldn't associate; Greg was my best friend in high school. Our friendship surpassed all racial boundaries and skin color simply didn't matter. Our friendship epitomized Dr. King's statement, "...a man should be judged by his character, not the color of his skin..." Greg was a young man of character and he served his nation with distinction in the US Navy aboard the most secret platforms in our arsenal - the nuclear fleet. Even today my thoughts wander to my friendship with Greg and I miss him....
