Sally Beede (Brennan)

Sally Aldina Brennan  May 26-September 24, 2013 a resident of Santa Cruz, California

Sally Brennan passed away of natural causes surrounded by loving family in her home on September 24th at 5:20 AM.  Sally touched lives simply by being herself, whether with a hug, the gift of a rock, or sharing her true curiosity for life.  She was prone to unprovoked acts of kindness, beauty, and love.   Her professional life reflected her strong values in social justice and public service, as as a pediatric nurse, in a court-referral progam, as Executive Director of Cupertino Community Services, and serving on the Board of Directors of Mid Peninsula Support Network for Battered Women.  She remained potitically and socially ative her entire life.  After becoming a widow at age 20 to her firsst husband, Larry Beeson, she was remarried to Terry Brennan.  Together they raised four children and numerous "foster" children.  Sally also was a PTA president, a Cub Scout den leader, Campfire Girl leader, Sunday school teacher and more.  The door to her home was always open and the hosue was often as full as her heart.   She had a way of always looking at life through the eyes of a child, seeing wonderment in the ordinary, and every day.  She was adept at finding nurturing, and allowing the good in all she met to take root and grow.  Those who took her petite size as an indication of her stature were invariably surprised that so much energy, intellect, and strengh were in such a small package.  She had very small shoes, but they will be impossisble to fill.  Sally is survivied by her Brother, 4 children, six granchildren and one great grandchild.  In leu of flowers, please consider donations in her name to Hopice of Santa Cruz, Sempervirens Fund.  PLease follow this link to Sally's Facebook page and website for information on her life celebration. file:///:/User?Sam%20K/Pictures?ally%20Aldina%20Brennan%20Obituary%20View%2...
