Carol A. Henderson age 86 of Sterling, formerly of Dixon, passed away on Friday Sept. 26, 2025 at Citadel of Sterling.  She was born on Oct. 17, 1938 in Dixon, IL the daughter of Donald and Carrie (O'Hara) Brainerd.  Carol worked for many years as a clerk for the Dixon State School.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dixon.  She enjoyed playing the piano at church.  Carol married James "Barry" Henderson.  She is preceded in death by her parents, son Rodney Sweet, brother Donald Brainerd, and sister Donna Black.  She is survived by her husband Barry and several nieces and nephews.  Cremation rites have been accorded with a graveside service to be held on Thursday Dec. 11, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.  Arrangements by the Jones Funder Home in Dixon.
