Charles G. Rizner, 86, of Springfield Illinois May 24, 1938 - July 19 2024

Charles G. Rizner of Springfield, IL died at 8:35 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at Regency Care in Springfield. He was born May 24, 1938, in Dixon, IL, the son of Warren C. and Rachel (Gentry) Rizner. He married Judy K. Kufer on June 27, 1964 in Lombard, IL. Charles attended Dixon High School. He was a proud firefighter, and later a state trouper. Charles retired from the Department of Corrections in Lincoln. He was a loving, good person with a great sense of humor. Charles was artistic, loved music, barbecuing, fishing with his sons and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Steven Rizner; sister Carol Jean Rizner; and grandmother, Margaret Clayton. Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy, son, David C. (Jennifer) Rizner of Elmhurst, IL; daughter-in-law, Paula Rizner of Bloomington, IL; five grandchildren, Nick, Ryan (Maddie); and Mike Rizner, and Eric and Emma Rutherford and two sisters, Shirley (Larry) Bollman of Dixon, IL, and Joanne (Jeff) MacDonald of Veron Beach, FL.
