Doug was one of several classmates who excelled in speech or drama at Thornridge and were attracted to Illinois Wesleyan, including Jim Niesen, John Hardin, Ron De Young, and Carol Gustafson. Doug had a quick sense of humor and a powerful baritone. If memory serves, he majored in speech at Wesleyan and went on to a successful career in radio. He was also a loyal and enthusiastic member of the TKE fraternity.
My son worked at Channel 56 in Indiana for a few years and Doug was one of the salesmen who provided product or service to the station. Kevin saw the obituary and was sad as Doug was always very pleasant when he visited with him.
