I knew Larry and Terry years before we ever knew we would go to the same high school together. I met the twins in the early fifties, because we happen to live a half block away on the same street in Chicago. We all liked the same girl (Linda), who lived next door to them, funny b/c we were just kids....LOL. Larry & I were drafted to take our pre-induction physical for the U.S. Army on the same day in May of '67. Larry became a Marine, and I flunked the physical. I was so shocked watching the news when I learned of Larry's tragic death. Rest in peace, my friend.

I heard Larry died in a construction accident on the former Standard Oil Building.  Is that true?

The accident occurred on Wednesday, November 3, 1993.  Larry was an ironworker working on the new U. S. Post Office at Harrison and Canal Streets.  The article I have about the accident stated that fellow Thornridge classmate, Chuck Salerno, also worked as an ironworker on the building and rushed back into the rubble to find Larry.  Larry survived the ride to the hospital, but not much longer.  Very sad.

Very sad, indeed.  Chuck Salerno lived down the street from us at the northern end of Greenwood Avenue in South Holland.  Running back to try to find Terry is exactly something that he would have done.
