Dan was killed by a drunk driver in a car accident on March 24, 1987. He was survived by his parents Fred and Barbara Daugharty, his brothers Michael, David, and Thomas and his sisters Linda and Barbara.
Dan was one of my oldest and best friends. He had a humble character, a wonderfully twisted sense of humor, and wouldn't hurt a fly. He was an incredible athlete (could do seemingly unlimited hand-stand push-ups).
I don't remember Dan ever taking a drink or anything similar. Extremely ironic that he was killed by a drunk driver.
Dan became a police officer soon after high school and was engaged to be married when his life was cut short.
