Jeff Russell

Hi, everyone from DCHS- can't believe it's been over 20 years since walking on the field for graduation. The world has really changed since 1990, but some things never do. I'm a Christian now, and after my Dad passed away in 2008, I decided to go back to college and finally finish my degree, something he had always wanted and I had always regretted not doing. I graduated from the University of West Georgia in May of 2011. In April of 2012, I married my best friend, soul mate, and the love of my life, Amy Ragland, who I first met back when we were 11 years old in the 6th grade, at Chapel Hill Middle School. We reconnected as friends on Classmates in 2008, but were both dating other people at the time. It wasn't until 2011 that we actually got together as a couple. I couldn't believe how much we had in common and never knew it all those years. She is a wonderful Christian, woman, mother, and partner who I know is a gift from God. We have two terrific kids, a teenager getting ready to graduate and go on to success in Engineering at Tennessee Tech, and a preteen who is just discovering she has an interest in Meteorology. We now live in Cookeville, TN, a really nice small town halfway between Nashville and Knoxville. I recently started work with the Nashville Public Library as a Circulation/Research Asst and really am enjoying it, working now at the Hermitage Branch library near Nashville. In 2013, we had the scare of our lives when Amy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. I lost my best friend, my soulmate and my entire world on June 24, 2014 when she passed away. I was lucky to know her at all <3

I remember Mr. Guthrie always made class fun and kept everyone laughing (even in Accounting-lol) I can't believe its been 20 years since graduation- time really flies. Hope everyone is doing well~
