March 2, 1947 - May 2, 2016
Linda Grey Heitz, mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, and sheer force of nature, passed away at her beloved home in the hills of the Pacific Palisades on May 2nd after a long and courageous fight against cancer. Surrounded by loved ones, prayers and blessings, candles, and the ocean breeze, Linda made her transition peacefully in the early morning hours.
Her heart and soul was her daughter, Alex McKenna Grey Heitz, her cherished late husband, Ken Heitz, her parents, brothers and sisters, and her family and friends. Linda's generosity and her ability to bring people together was legendary. She was responsible for helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charitable organizations whose work included saving the coral reefs, literacy, cancer research, and animal advocacy, among many others.
Born Linda Ann LeClair to Roger and Anne (Keel) LeClair in Los Angeles, she was the eldest of six children, a natural leader and destined for a life less ordinary. A graduate of Pius X High School, Linda quickly became a savvy and successful businesswoman. She was the publicist to a myriad of well-known actors and musicians in the seventies and eighties, but Linda's real talent was commanding a room, which stood her well as she expanded into marketing, producing and management. Her impeccable eye for design and detail led to transforming spaces and creating one-of-a kind experiences in her post PR and producing years. Her life with her husband Ken was marked by elegant meals, travel, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Alex, her parents, Anne and Roger LeClair, her sisters Susan Neely and Marcie LeClair-Cobb, her brothers, Tony LeClair and Michael LeClair, her stepdaughters Jenny and Joanna Heitz, granddaughters Eva Wiener and Rachel Wempa, and her four cats. There will be a celebration of Linda's life on Friday, May 13th.
