Joan Ellen Duffy, 24, of Coralville, IA died in her apartment on March 13, 1973. She was found by her roommate, Linda Till. Miss Duffy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Duffy of Dubuque and was a student nurse at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. An autopsy report is expected soon.
Joan, a 1966 graduate of Wahlert High School, received her L.P.N. degree from St. Mary's School at LaSalle, IL in 1968. She was a post graduate practical nurse at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX in 1970.
Surviving besides her parents are five sisters, Sister Mary Susan, RSM, of Farmington, MI, Jean (Karl) Kohnen of Loves Park, IL, Kathleen Duffy of Joliet, IL, and Colleen and Margaret Duffy, both of Dubuque.

Joan was a wonderful friend, had many great times with her and her twin Jean. First met her when we were in seventh grade at Girl Scouts, friends all the way through high school,worked together for two years at Mercy Hospital and remained friends til her untimely death.such a shock.Will never forget her, forever in my heart.
