I also lost my brother, Charles Jr. in 1968.  He was killed in action July 21, 1968 while serving with the Jumping Mustangs, C. Co. 1st BN, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cav Div USARV, Army, near Quang Tri.  Rest in Peace, John, I remember you well.  To you, and to your family, may God bless y'all, and "THANK YOU FOR  YOUR ULTIMATE SACRIFICE"...

I remember you well, John, as my classmate and a member of my parish, St. Patrick's.  I know how much your family grieved for you.  I would often see your parents at Mass and as a tribute to all military members, my husband and I, as part of our 25th wedding anniversary Mass, had the gifts brought forward by 3 Marines: our 2 sons, Jesse and Justin and my husband's brother Ted.  After Mass, your dad shook their hands.  I was touched by that, knowing that he had lost a son who was a Marine. You made the ultimate sacrifice, John, and there are still many of us left who honor and cherish that sacrifice.  We will never forget. May God's perpetual light shine upon you and may you rest in peace. Semper Fidelis.
