Candice Frommelt (Runde)

Candice L. "Candy" Frommelt Runde, 67, of Cuba City, WI, died March 18, 2015 at home, surrounded by her family.  She was born on January 28, 1948, the daughter of Wilfred "Bootzie" and Gertrude "Jeanne" (White) Frommelt in Dubuque.   She married Tim Runde at St Mary's Church in East Dubuque on July 12, 1969.

Candy was well known in the East Dubuque area, having attended St. Mary's Elementary School and graduating from Wahlert High School in Dubuque in 1966.  In her younger years, she was active in local horse shows and enjoyed barrel racing.  In 1966, she was crowned Rodeo Queen for the East Dubuque Rodeo Days at the age of 18.  Candy was an avid bowler and a member of many area teams.  She was a member of the Dickeyville Bowling Association, the 700 Club, and enjoyed helping with the Rookie Golf at Cole Acres.

She worked at Advance Transformer in Platteville and later managed the Birchwood Golf Course.  She was an avid Bears, Cubs and Badger fan and enjoyed watching their games.  Candy also enjoyed helping her son-in-law, Jay, at Hindu's Corner Bar and cooking at family get-togethers.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.

Besides her husband, Tim, she is survived by three daughters, Stacey (Keith) Bonnet, of Kieler, Becky (Jay) Hinderman, of Cuba City, and Heidi (Joel) Drapeau, of Peosta; two sisters, Lynn Stewart of East Dubuque, and Kristy Dalen of Rochelle, IL.; and brothers and sisters-in-law Donna and Dwight Eggers, Diane Kiley, Ted and Mary Runde, Bill and Joan Runder, Roger and Meryl Runde and June Runde, all of Cuba City and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Don and Vi Runde, and a brother-in-law Stan Runde.
