
Daniel J. Stumpf, 70, of Dubuque died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Unity Point Finley Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Dan was born on April 11, 1948 in Dubuque, the son of Ralph A. and LaVonne (Hanson) Stumpf. He married Mary Ellen Aird On January 10, 1970 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Dan worked at Eagles for over 35 years.
He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years and loved going to camp with his children. Dan loved the outdoors, traveling and camping as well as working outside in his yard. He enjoyed building birdfeeders and hanging them in the yard to watch all the different kinds of birds. He talked to all his animal friends and he even had names for them! He was an avid White Sox fan until the end! His grandchildren were his everything and gave him the greatest joy.
Dan is survived by his wife Mary Ellen; children, Heather Stumpf, Aaron (Jane) Stumpf, Nathan (Amanda Bays) Stumpf, and Jessica (Francisco) Nava; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Luke (Deb) Stumpf, Kimberly Stumpf, Ron "Woody" (Janet) Stumpf, and Don Stumpf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and LaVonne Stumpf; mother and father-in-law, Lorraine and Clem Aird; brothers, Steve and Tim; and sister-in-law Kathy.
