Ronald E. Theobald, 70, of Dubuque passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics. He was surrounded by family and friends.  Ron was born on August 3, 1948 in Dubuque, the son of John and Irene (Kennedy) Theobald.  He graduated from Wahlert High School in 1966 and served in the US Army 101st Airborne, Screaming Eagles, from 1968-1969 in Vietnam during the Tet offensive.  In 1971 he married Kathy Welsh and they raised three daughters.

Ron worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for 41 years.  He was a man who loved God and used the talents he was given to help and serve others, especially anything car related.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Troxel, Julie Theobald-Ryan, and Janna (Miguel) Cruz; grandchildren, Caleb, Abigail, Jacob, Edward, Sousi, Urbana, Sêve, Nello, Micah, & Jonah; siblings, Richard (Cathy) Theobald, Randy (Sue)Theobald, Roger Theobald, Lynn (Billy) Meyer, John "Jake" (David) Theobald; and brothers and sisters- in -law, Pat (Sandi) Welsh and Pauline (Matt) Winney.

He was preceded in death by his son Micah Jude; parents, John & Irene; and in- laws Vince & Marce Welsh.
