Tom was my best friend. We lived next door from age 6 on. We both went thru St Micheals and Cathedral together.
I remember many nights in tents with him in Boy Scouts and wild rides in Tom Craig's old Henry Jay before any of us had a license. Also Karl Kuth's Lark.
He was best man at my wedding. A good and generous man..
I still remember soon after my parents divorced my dad shared an apartment with Tom. Not only did he hang out by the pool so my brother and I could swim during our visits, he also surprised me with the most wonderful birthday cake a seven year old girl had ever seen. The center was a beautiful doll and her elaborate dress was the cake. When I didn't get all of the candles out on the first try, he lit them all over so I could try again. What a great guy!
What I remember most about Tom was his zany laughter and how he was just fun to be around. He also made everyone around him feel included. He was a friend to many!
Tom was in my homeroom for one or two years. Students wanted to be around him, since he was upbeat and humorous. I will always remember his laugh which was infectious. Tom had a serious side as well. He had leadership qualities and served on our student council for a couple of years. We can learn from Tom not to take ourselves so seriously. Great guy!
So many wonderful memories knowing Tom as a thoughful and true friend ...primarily after graduation. Like Mike Wille would say " Tom was a real LONG BALL HITTER " Through out Our college years and beyond I could always depend on Tom , but his consistant humor and creative endeavors [ situational comedies ] would never cease to keeping you guessing. Shortly after Tom and Chris purchased their home on Waverly street they invited Rita and I over for the evening. In their finest hospitality, they offered their new WATER BED to us and our new baby . What a night that was ...a splishing and a splashing , squishing an a squishing and a rocking an rolling all about a saturday night with our little Joey in the middle. Tom's infectural laughtful the next morning was well worth noctual turbulance. That was to me, the essense of Tom's charm. I will always charish Tom's company , His advice, Our skiing trips , Parties and our mutural involvement with the Army Reserves. I just loved the Guy !...God Bless Tom
