Carlo, it only took you 3 weeks to come up with that? Good one.

Giancarlo Taliente

Hey! Where did everyone go?? Like I should talk. First, let me thank everyone for the birthday wishes. You guys are awesome. Now to catch everyone up, I know some of you have heard this before on Facebook, but I figured to bring everyone up to speed. As I went to work early Monday morning, April 13th, I was called into the owners office and fired. Reasons being given were that sales were way off from previous years and the economy was hurting us. I was in shock but accepted it since so many others out there were facing the same fate. The next day I get a call from my friend still working there that they hired another artist that had just been let go by Disney. For more money than me. I was lied to just so I would go quietly and not make a scene. I had never lost my temper or acted in any way other than professional before. The owner told me two weeks before that my job was safe and that the company had actually turned a profit for the first quarter. He got stars in his eyes thinking that someone with a Disney pedigree will make him even MORE money than I could, so I got fired with no severance. Nice. I had been thinking about moving into full-time freelance but this really accelerated that thinking. Luckily, so far, things have been working out. I have been getting enough work to keep us even but I am not working as steady as I would like yet. I still have options and avenues to explore for clients but they take time and that is what I have been working on as much as possible.

Jon - I'm sorry to hear about what happened, but I truly believe that good things will come from it. You have such amazing talent. Best of luck and keep us posted on your progress.

I have been around, but haven't seen any posts. I was sorry to hear about that Jon, you have so much talent and should get it going again soon. If you ever need someone to talk to give me a call, 201-747-1665 - cell, I don't want to have my wife subjected to you. Where is Giancarlo, he was in Newark the other day and called me, he gave me like 2 hours notice before he was leaving and I was at a family cookout. What a PUTZ!

Jon, sorry to hear about your job situation. Sometimes things happen for a reason even though it is hard to see at the time. I always tell my kids that God shuts one door so another one can open. I have always thought of all of you as my kids! You are certainly very talented and things will work out for you. I haven't been on the web site too much either. Busy time of year with the end of school. My youngest is graduating high school so there are alot of events. Hope everyone is well and looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Vinnie, any Myrtle Beach trips planned? My husband has been down about once a month for long weekends playing golf. Things are pretty quite down there. We are planning a family vacation sometime in August, not sure when due to my girls work schedules and college schedules. Anyone else have vacations??

Jon, hang in there as things will only get better. My only advice to you is "never give up". I went through some fairly bad times at the PD, but I never gave up and always fought the fight. You are way too talented not to succeed!

Brian Pfeufer

Good advice from Mrs.Slack and Vinnie.

Happy Birthday Kathy, I hope you enjoy this special day. Sixth Grade seems like a long time ago, yet only like yesterday.

I am in North Myrtle Beach August 19 - 29th. Not sure if we will stop in Virginia Beach for a day to visit cousins. We will must likely drive through the night, this way my kids will sleep and I don't have to hear the question over and over again.

We saw Springsteen in concert at the IZOD center two weeks ago and I am goint to see him again at Giant Stadium. I hope everyone is doing well.

Kathy, I hope you have an excellent day. Jon, hang in there my friend. And Brian, I will be sure to give you more of a heads up next time my plans change and I go through Newark rather than Chicago.

I wish I could have seen you Giancarlo, I just love giving you a hard time. Call me whenever.

Happy belated Birthday, Kathy. Hope you had a great day.
Hang in there, Jon. You are too talented to not find something quickly. Someone will be very lucky when they hire you.

Kathy - Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was fun.

Hey Paul, maybe you can tell us what you have been up to, it has been awhile.

Happy anniversary to those of us that graduated from St. Mary's 26 years ago today. the time does fly by.......

26 Years??!! Wow!! Leave it to Chris to remember the exact day!

Happy belated birthday Kathy!!

Thanks for all the support everyone. Things are ok at the moment. Been getting some work (and I love working out by the pool!!) just need to be patient as I slowly build a list of clients. My wife has been AWESOME in dealing with this too and being a calming influence. Although we did have to scrap any vacation plans we had due to this. :(

06/03/09 01:36 PM #786

Brian Pfeufer

Agreed - leave it to Chris. I do have a memory of sitting on the side of my bed and thinking how sad I was to be leaving St.Mary's, teachers, friends and good times behind. St.Mary's was great and I would pay to do it all over again, thanks to all of you!

06/03/09 07:53 PM #787

Giancarlo Taliente

Everytime I get on this forum, I have a tough time believing that over a quarter of century has passed since St. Mary's. It has taken me this long to be able to come up with my snappy comebacks to Brian

06/04/09 06:48 AM #788

Brian Pfeufer

Carlo, keep try'in. Maybe in another 25 years.

06/20/09 08:19 AM #789

Happy Birthay Paul, another one bites the dust!

So when is the reunion or has the economy and our future Socialist society put the kibbutz on everything?

06/24/09 07:00 AM #791

Brian Pfeufer

When does everyone want to get together and where. I am in, are you going to be here anytime soon Giancarlo? Anyone else? Darlene, Paula, Jon, Kathy, George?

Brian Pfeufer

Darlene says she will be around the end of July, Happy 4th to all!
