I'm only a guest member here, but a very important announcement must be made, and nobody else seems to be doing it --

Unfortunately the administrator of this website, Terry Sandy, died a month ago. According to the DHS Foundation publication The Oldie, "Terry went in for an operation just before Easter. He developed an infection which they treated. He sadly developed a secondary infection which they could not treat, and he passed away peacefully. Terry was a regular member of the Midlands Mob and was very instrumental in organizing the Class of 1965 Reunions and will be missed this year at their 60th Reunion."

I was acquainted with Terry only through some correspondence that we had, but I know that he was very highly regarded. This is a great loss to the Class of 1965.

If Terry appointed one or more co-administrators, they will already have access to the various background controls that keep this website running, and should identify themselves and take over. If Terry did not appoint co-administrators, then this website will remain frozen until its current subscription with the provider runs out, and then it will disappear for good.

If there are no co-administrators but but someone will volunteer to try to take over, I will be glad to advise on how he might go about this -- I'm adminstrator of the 1961 website (www.dhs-class-of-1961.net), so I have some experience with this.

I am also posting this to the message forum. I hope co-administrators or volunteers reply.

SA govt records show that Rod married Sandra Morleen Lowe in 1974 and died at Kloof on 17 July 1996 of "unnatural causes", presumably injuries suffered in the hijacking mentioned above.

Iain Michael Valentine Cave started out at DHS as a member of the class of 1965, but matriculated with the class of 1966.  He was the brother of Simon Cave, also a DHS pupil, who died in a road accident in the 1960s.  At school Iain was known as a pleasant personality with a somewhat laconic manner.  He was awarded full colours for swimming.  Iain died in 2000 in Balfour, a small farming and coal mining town about 85 km SE from Johannesburg.  The cause of death was listed as "natural causes".

According to public records, Keith Melville Seymour married Gillian Elizabeth Hope in SA in 1972. At some point they emigrated to the USA and settled in the lovely seaside town of Savannah, Georgia. Keith passed away there on 26 December 2007. This is the local announcement at the time: Keith Melville Seymour - SAVANNAH - Keith Melville Seymour, 59, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Gillian Elizabeth McDonald Seymour, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 26, 2007, at Hospice Savannah after a short illness. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, he was a son of the late Cecil Melville Seymour and the late Elise Barbara Jones Seymour. Keith was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church and the Rotary Club of Savannah Sunrise. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Gillian Elizabeth McDonald Seymour of Savannah, Georgia, and two daughters, Jo-anne Frey and her husband, Lars, of Evans, Georgia, and Wendy Vallee and her husband, Brent, of Orlando, Florida.
