Ms. Nicole Denise "Nikki" Byrd, 23, of 3009 Wedgedale Ave., died Saturday, June 1, 2002, in Durham Regional Hospital.

A native of Durham County, she was a 2000 graduate of Southern Durham High School and attended Lifespan, Inc.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at True-Way Holy Church by Pastor Deborah Obie. Burial will be in Glennview Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are her father, Mr. Thomas E. Byrd, Sr. of Durham; her mother, Mrs. Beatrice D. Byrd of Durham; two brothers, Mr. Thomas E. Byrd, Jr. of Groton, Ct., and Mr. Tracy V. Byrd of Durham; a sister, Miss Stacy D. Byrd of Durham; her grandmothers, Pastor Nina M. Jones and Evangelist Beatrice Halsey, both of Durham; 13 aunts and 10 uncles, all of Durham.

The family will receive visitors from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Scarborough & Hargett Memorial Chapel.
