Brian's senior candid.
Our dear classmate Brian Falk passed away on Jan. 13, 2026. He joined our class in kindergarten.
Here are some excerpts from his obituary, which appeared in The Republican newspaper, Springfield, MA:
Brian Alan Falk, 73, loved and known by many, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026 at home after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Brian was born on Jun. 26, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of East Longmeadow, MA. He graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 1970 and went on to proudly serve the community as a firefighter with the East Longmeadow Fire Department. Brian dedicated 35 years of service to the department, retiring as Fire Captain in 2006.
Throughout his life, Brian was deeply involved in his community. He was an active member of the East Longmeadow Fourth of July Parade Committee, the Emergency Planning Committee, and Emergency Management, and was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge in Springfield, MA, where he especially enjoyed calling bingo. His commitment to service extended well beyond his career, and he was always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed.
Brian was predeceased by his beloved wife of 38 years, Sandra M. Falk in 2014, as well as his parents, Edwin and Jean Falk.
Brian enjoyed golfing, traveling, vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC, spending time with his family, and doting on his beloved dog, Star. His greatest joy, however, was his family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Falk of Springfiend, MA and Kimberly Falk and her husband, Jay of Canton, ME. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Brian is also survived by his younger brother, Jeffrey Falk of Bel Aire, KS and by his "adopted" daughter, Amanda Maurer of East Longmeadow, and her four boys, who were a constant source of pride and love in his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian's memory to the Last Call Foundation, 138 Oak St., Braintree, MA 02184 or to the American Cancer Society.
Brian's remains will be interred in Billings Hill Cemetery, East Longmeadow, MA.
