Friday Evening ( The fun begins!)

It was a dark and stormy night..............  Well, it was dark and it was drizzling occasionally as we arrived at the Pizza Shoppe on Shaker Road in E.L.! We were the first to arrive and were escorted to the secret backroom usually reserved for wild parties and Mafia meetings. This room was no stranger to unspeakable acts and heinous plotting! But even this room was not prepared for the group of miscreants that passed through its doors on this occasion and it had once been used as a local Republican headquarters! Second to arrive were Laura Moore and Martha Cantalini with David Cooke and Pam Maybury close behind. After that it just spiraled downward out of control, looking for a place to crash! The drinking began as people walked in the door and the only line longer than the one at the bar was the one down the hall for the restrooms! Several pizzas were purchased and the wait staff (poor souls) tried to put them on the table in the middle of the room but only made it half way before they were attacked and picked clean without ever knowing what hit them! 911 was called and order was restored with the liberal use of pepper spray, stun guns and a water cannon. They brought dogs from the canine unit but they refused to get out of the vehicle they arrived in and were seen shaking and cowering with their paws over their eyes. After the carnage was mopped up, everyone settled down and began to renew old friendships with a trip or two down memory lane. Some of the attendees could have used a GPS because the stories I heard bore little resemblance to what I remember happening. I think that our classmates have been telling high school stories to so many non-classmates for so many years that they actually believe that it was them who was the smartest or coolest or most popular when in truth we all know it was really me! But I let them ramble on and when the night was over everyone was hoarse and hard of hearing because of the constant shouting over each other. Many pictures were taken but when that first flash went off everyone dove for cover or jumped behind their spouse as they thought gun play had broken out and didn't want to be hit by a stray shot. Everyone's nervousness gradually went away and a fun time was had by all! The local authorities breathed a sigh of relief as we all said our goodbye's and went home for the night! If any of you are interested in contributing to the "Restore the Pizza Shoppe" fund please send your checks made out to me or cash in denominations of twenties or smaller and I will see that the money is forwarded through my offshore accounts to the right people. Until next time,  PJNaz

All kidding aside, I had lots of fun seeing and catching up with old friends and acquaintances, many of whom I hadn't seen in 35 1/2 years. I believe a good time was had by all who were fortunate enough to be able to be there!   Paul

Gee Paul, I do not remember anything except everyone having a wonderful time. Maybe your mind is starting to go, I hear it's the second thing to go, after all...

Kidding aside, it was great seeing you and Jackie and everyone else. I had a wonderful weekend. I hope we have a get together a year from now, as many people suggested.
