Jane M Coulombe (Fontaine), 65, of West Springfield, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 peacefully at home with her husband, David (Dave) Coulombe, Sr. by her side.
Jane and Dave celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary the week prior, and also celebrated her last round of chemo treatment on Friday. She fought through this latest life challenge admirably and was focused on the future with her family and friends. She loved being home with Dave and was looking forward to camping on their scheduled vacations and getting back to normal with family and friends.
Jane was known by many for her support and caring manner. She was active in the PV8 Camping Club and the Lion’s Club. She previously worked at the West Springfield High School in the cafeteria and prior to that, at Monarch Life. She was amazing with the sewing machine and made scrubs for fellow cafeteria workers and nurses. Also, at the start of the pandemic, she made masks for people in need since they were so hard to come by. In her time at Monarch Life, she made breakfast sandwiches to raise funds for the United Way. Jane loved her family and her friends and would do anything she could to help someone in need.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, she was the daughter of Raymond and Sarah Jane (Nichols) Fontaine.
She leaves behind a large, loving family including a son, Albert Giguere, Jr and wife Aslyne; a daughter, Sarah Jane Dailey and husband, Austin; a son, Carl Schubach Jr and partner Ashley; a son, Jonathan Coulombe and wife Rosemary; a daughter, Cynthia Bergeron; a son, David Coulombe Jr and spouse Laura; a son, Nicholas Chicoine; and daughter, Angela Chicoine. In addition, she leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
