In Memory

Laura Moore

I am heartbroken to let you know that the Class of 1974 has lost a dear, sweet and irreplaceable friend with the sad and unexpected passing of our classmate, Laura Moore, at her home in Sarasota, FL, on August 4, 2021 after a battle with COPD.  Laura embodied the words "Spartan Spirit" - she loved being a Spartan from the top of her head to the tip of her toes.  She was instrumental in making sure our class stayed in touch between reunions - when back in EL she loved to gather us at the Pizza Shoppe and down in Sarasota made sure her Florida-based classmates met up on a regular basis to keep the party going!

She leaves her dear brothers Scott and Bruce (both ELHS Class of '70) and was predeceased by her loving parents and dear brothers John and Andrew, as well as her little Westie companion of 14 years, Skye, who just passed away in July.  Donations to your local food bank have been requested in her memory.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Laura - the Class of '74 will miss you.

Pam,
Thank you very much for this heartfelt tribute to Laura. She was a Spartan to the core! Every day we'd talk on the phone about the latest news of Spartans we knew and East Longmeadow happenings. We both felt we were back in town and at ELHS in our minds. Despite my missing Laura so much, I'm comforted knowing she is now free from her difficult health challenge. That gives me solace in the face of not being able to speak with her. I know how much she loved her classmates. I send her love and my love to all of you now!
Warmly,
Scott Moore, brother, ELHS 1970
