Charles James

ARIZONA -- Charles McCoy James, 61, of Arizona, formerly of the Quad Cities, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, Mich.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, Ill. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his family.

Charles was born on June 16, 1951, in Moline, the son of McCoy L. and Betty A. (Garner) James.

He married Mary Cannon on May 16, 1992 in Park View. Charles worked as a Case IH Benefits Representative for UAW. He was very active in Case Bettendorf Local 858 and the United Way of the Quad Cities. Together, he and Mary retired in 2004 and moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., where they owned Tanning Bare Salon.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Cannon-James, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; son, Chad James, Silvis, Ill.; daughter, Christy Hahn, Cheyenne, Wyo.; step-son, Doug Cannon, Denver, Colo.; father, McCoy L. James, Port Byron; brothers, Scott (Regina) James, Port Byron and Jeff James, St. Louis, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Betty.

Candace Atkins (Thomas)

Chuck was one of my very first friends. We went to school together in first grade in Moline.He gave me my very first kitten. Very fond memories of Chuck
