I remember Louis as pleasant and easy-going. Friends sometimes called him "Loose Tooth", a play on his actual name. Louis was good natured about all this. His record after East Side is truly impressive.
I didn't know Louis well but remember him as being quiet, kind and thoughtful of others. It's quite amazing what he has accomplished in his life, both profesionally and voluntarily; a life to be extremely proud of.
Gary and I go back a long way with Louie and Alice. The four of us were all in the band together at East Side. When Louie was hired by IBM, I wasn't surprised. He and I were in Senior Math together. I knew how smart he was. He was such a quiet guy. Never once did he brag about his accolades at IBM. He loved his family and the Everglades. Gary and I brought our granddaughter, a fourth-year student at the University of Minnesota majoring in Environmental Biology, down to see and experience the Everglades on her Spring Break this year. Louie was in the hospital already. Alice was a trooper. She and their oldest daughter, Laura, were very bravely playing the waiting game. Alice and Louie had a wonderful loving marriage. Louie was really a lucky guy to snag Alice. She was an awesome wife and raised four really nice kids who are on their way to raising their own families. Love, Sue (and Gary)
