Cory S. Kirkwood, 26, of East Stroudsburg, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 8.

Born on Sept. 7, 1979, in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of Gary D. Kirkwood and Arlene I. Roberts of East Stroudsburg.

Cory graduated from East Stroudsburg South High School in 1997. He enjoyed playing baseball and basketball during high school. Cory was an avid chess player.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are maternal grandparents Ernest Roberts and wife, Asta Magnus Dottir Roberts, of Slatington; paternal grandparents Alvin Kirkwood and wife, Ureneus Dotson Kirkwood, of Tobyhanna; sister Nicole Kirkwood of East Stroudsburg; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, at the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain, Route 611, Delaware Water Gap. Rev. Karen Nickels will officiate. Cremation will take place at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

A visitation for family and friends will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg.
