Susan Snow Obituary

Susan Catherine Snow of Easton passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Bayleigh Chase Oakbridge Terrace Assisted Living Facilities after a short battle with cancer. She was 87.

Born in Easton on Nov. 12, 1937, Ms. Snow grew up on her family’s farm in Cordova.

Shortly after graduating from Easton High School in 1955, she was hired as a temporary employee by Choptank Electric in October, 1955. She became a full-time employee on Jan. 1,1956 as a general clerk.

Ms. Snow remained a backbone for Choptank for over 50 years and performed a number of various jobs, including cashier, Denton district stenographer, coordinator of consumer inquiries, and was office specialist starting in 1999. She also held a position where she mailed welcome letters to new members, updated memberships, handled monthly billing, the winter heat program and posted funds for energy assistance accounts.

Ms. Snow was thought of as a rare breed in Choptank Electric’s newsletter when she celebrated her 50th anniversary with the company in January, 2006. She served another eight years with the co-op before retiring on July 8, 2014.

In her free time, Ms. Snow was a big country music fan and enjoyed attending concerts and harness races, taking bus trips with friends, and making yearly trips to fairs in Maryland and Delaware. She was an avid gardener and loved growing her own fresh vegetables and flowers. She also enjoyed family get-togethers and always had a house-full when she hosted family and friends for Christmas eve and Easter dinners. Ms. Snow was a member of Hillsboro Queen Anne United Methodist Church.

Ms. Snow was preceded in death by her parents Henry Willis and Susie Catherine Snow, and her twin brother, Henry Willis Snow Jr.

She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Skinner of Queen Anne, MD, sister-in-law, Ruth Snow of Easton, MD, nieces Donna (Robin) Taylor; Melodie (William) Haufe; nephews J. Tim Skinner and David Snow; great nieces Shelby Taylor Eason (Alex) and Bree Haufe; great nephews Shane Taylor, Jason Skinner (Susan), Justin Skinner (Amber) and Billy Haufe Jr., and great, great nephews Ryder, Reid and Colton Skinner, Wyatt Eason, and great, great nieces Kayleigh Skinner and Blaire Eason.
