Kathleen (Kathy) Mary Lewan, 66, died unexpectedly of natural causes on November 28, 2020. Kathy was born on March 2, 1954 in Peoria, Illinois to Eugene and Nancy (Carrol) Lewan (from Chicago). After living in Bettendorf, Iowa and Birmingham, Michigan as a child, she grew up in Edina Minnesota and graduated from Edina High School in 1972. Kathy attended Florida State University at Coral Gables and graduated with a nursing degree from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she was employed at Hennepin County Medical Center and worked in trauma care. She later lived and worked in Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina before returning to Minnesota. Kathy loved spending time with family and friends. She was a tenacious competitor at the game of Monopoly. She enjoyed walks and bicycling around the lakes in Minneapolis. She also enjoyed bargain shopping, dancing with friends at the VFW, visiting Mystic Lake casino, weekend getaways and watching television dramas. Kathy's enthusiasm for life and love for others, will be greatly missed. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Nancy Lewan. She is survived by her sister Judy Siglin, her brothers Robert and David Lewan, as well as a niece, Danielle and nephews, Taylor and Bryce.
