Martens, Jay K. Age 54 of Bloomington, died February 2, 2009 due to complications of the heart and lungs. Survived by parents, Joyce and Harold Martens of Edina; and brother, Charles of Edina. Jay was a graduate of the Edina High School where he was also a member of the Edina High School Band. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the U of M where he was also a member of the U of M Marching Band. Jay received his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He was a Research Engineer designing satellites and missiles for TRW in Redondo Beach, CA. Jay enjoyed reading non-fiction books, playing the piano and other instruments. Funeral service 2 PM Saturday with visitation 1/2 hour prior to the service at Lakewood Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave S, Mpls. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. Reception to follow at Mt.
