Obituary

Mark Paulsen, of Lakeville, passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 69. Mark leaves behind a legacy of work, love, and commitment to his family and community.

Born in 1954, Mark grew up in Edina and spent his life in the Twin Cities. He served diligently for the City of Minneapolis for over 20 years, contributing his time and expertise to helping manage financing for various projects within the IT department. In addition to his work for the city, Mark was a trusted Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who served many friends and family members throughout the Twin Cities area. His expertise and dedication to his accounting work was well respected and his business grew entirely through word-of-mouth recommendations.

Mark was a devoted husband to Barbara Paulsen, and a loving father to his two daughters, Brittany and Courtney. He took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his family. His two granddaughters, Isabella and Greta, brought immense joy and happiness into his life, and he cherished the opportunity to watch them grow and thrive.

Outside of his professional and familial responsibilities, Mark found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved nothing more than spending quality time with his loved ones, whether it be enjoying a meal together, playing a game of cards, or simply sharing stories and laughter around the dinner table. Mark's commitment to his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara; daughters, Brittany (Luke) DiCosimo and Courtney (Ian) Mitchell; grandchildren, Isabella DiCosimo and Greta Mitchell; his siblings Teresa Paulsen, Tod (Cathy) Paulsen and Susanne (Roy) Earl; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Leigh and Bernice Paulsen.

A memorial service to celebrate Mark's life will be held on April 15th, at Hosanna Lutheran Church 9600 163rd St. W. Lakeville, MN. Visitation is at 10am and Celebration of Life at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to American Heart Association (www.heart.org ) in Mark's honor.
