We were neighbors and friends. Such a precious and shy boy. I remember that he found some cigars at the "dead end" (playground for all the neighbor kids, complete w/woods). He thought it was so cool and smoked it w/some of the boys. I also was on the bus when he was in the accident. He was so excited to be on a motorcycle instead of riding the bus w/all of us. All of us turned around and saw him, with the biggest smile, as he passed the bus and met a car. I don't think he ever knew pain. By the time we got to the hospital, he was gone. I will always remember him as sweet Jimmy Elder. I had the pleasure of having his sister, Barbara, to be our mail delivery girl until she retired. She is so much like Jimmy.
