David Arms

David L. Arms, 62, passed away on January 18, 2022 in Edmond, Oklahoma. David was born on February 17, 1959 to Kenneth Lee and Carol Ann (Smithson) Arms in Cushing, Oklahoma. After graduating from Edmond Memorial High School in 1977, he went on to study business at Oklahoma State University, graduating with a degree in accounting. He later went on to earn an MBA from Oklahoma City University. David began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen and later took on the role of President at Halliburton Production Co. His entrepreneurship led him to create two highly successful businesses where he became an owner at Blue Dolphin Energy and most recently, BA Chemicals, LLC. David was more than just an employer. He was a friend who always encouraged and helped his employees to become a better version of themselves. David enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, scuba diving, and golfing. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting his company’s chartered yacht, “Dolphin Daze” in the British Virgin Islands. David was also a certified diver and pilot. His sports claim to fame was being known as “That Guy” for hitting back to back hole in ones at Mountain Shadows golf course in Scottsdale, AZ, where he spent many memorable times with his best friends. An avid OSU fan and supporter, David liked to spend his time attending OSU athletic events, even to the extent of attending booster basketball and football camps. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending T-ball games and soccer practices. David is survived by his sister Dee Foster and husband James Wetherby, brother Doug Arms and wife Lisa; daughters; Jennifer Taylor and husband Kyle, Sarah Arms, Megan Flaspohler and husband Jake, grandchildren: Roman, Tinsley; significant other; Jana Brannon and her daughter Jillian; and many other family members and friends.
