Nada Joseph began another journey on Jan. 28, 1999 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Nada enjoyed all aspects of life, especially the closeness of her friends who were with her at her passing. Nada was a talented musician and vocalist and her favorite performing stage was around the campfire at Kamp Kiva. Nada enjoyed going to camp, playing her guitar, cutting wood with her chainsaw, and spending time with her dogs, Rio and Niijii. She also enjoyed cross country skiing, working out and eating at the Wheels Restaurant. Nada was born in Cloquet on Sept. 19, 1958 and was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Chippewa Indians. She graduated from Central State University in Edmond, Okla. where she lettered on the college softball team. Nada worked for the Department of Corrections in Florida and later was the assistant security director for the Black Bear Casino in Cloquet. Most recently, Nada was employed by the Alger Correctional Facility in Munising. Nada was also a member of the Marquette Women's Softball League, the Power Station Gym and was an avid fan of the Northern Lites Women's Hockey Team. She served on the committee boat for the Marquette Yacht Club this past summer. She is survived by her partner, Brenda Melville of Marquette; her mother, Delia Moreland of Cloquet; sisters, Karen Wallace of Seattle, Wash., Bonnie Wallace of Cloquet, Shirley Wallace of Cloquet and Juanita Wallace of Edmond, Okla.; brothers, Robert Wallace of Germany, Jack Wallace of White Bear Lake and Donald Wallace of Cloquet; and many friends and coworkers who will miss her smiling face and vibrant personality.
