Larry Ruosch VIEW PROFILE

Larry D. Ruosch October 12, 1948 – January 26, 2008

Larry passed away at his home outside of Tucson, AZ, surrounded by his immediate family. He had succombed to the ravages of a life-long battle with diabetes. Though he was of small stature, he lived life large. He never complained and never let his affliction interfere with his zest for life. In his final year, with vital organs failing and an increasing dependence on dialysis, Larry did what most of us will not get the chance to do. He decided that the time was right to close the book. With great courage and his unfailing positive attitude, Larry asked his family to join him in what would be, by his own choice, his final days on earth. We had almost a week with Larry, watching movies, going out to eat, and touring nearby attractions — living and laughing and enjoying life just as Larry always did. His mind and soul were as youthful and alive as ever. Only the body was old and decrepit. These words can only hint at the tremendous gift my brother gave to us. Our final memory of him is more valuable than pictures or videos or spoken eulogies could ever be. Sharing those final days with Larry has forever imprinted in his loved ones, the memory of a life well lived. Larry is survived by his two sisters and me, and most importantly by his devoted daughter, Kimberly. Rest in peace, dear brother, Ron Ruosch, EHS '64
