Jeanette Cunningham

Obituary in the Edson Leader, January 7, 1986

On December 30, 1985, Jeanette, beloved daughter of Tom and Anne Cunningham passed away suddenly at the age of 15 years.

Besides her loving parents, Jeanette is survived by one sister Shelley, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Painter of Rocky Mountain House and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cunningham of Devon, Alberta.

She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Jeanette was predeceased by her fraternal grandparents.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 2nd, 1986 at 1:00 pm. from the Parkland Composite High School with Father T. Kroetch celebrant at a Mass of the Resurrection. Prayer services were held on Wednesday, January 1st, 1986 at the Sacred Heart Parish Edson, led by Father T. Kroetch.

Internment took place in Glenwood Cemetry.

In lieu of other tributes, donations if desired may be made to the Vanier School Memorial Scholarship fund.

Casket bearers were Chris Dozorec, Robbie Fahrion, John Gauthier, Phil Apoll, Warren Kennedy, Shwan Heggenstaller, and Edwin Findlay. Luncheon was served in the Catholic Church basement following committal services. Edson Funeral Home, Foothills Memorial Chapel. Edson.

On display in the lobby of the Edson Recreation Complex:

"Showcase is in memory of Troy Munro, Chad Andrychuk, Jeanette Cunningham. On Dec 30, 1985, returning home from a bantam hockey tournament, the vehicle in which they were travelling was involved in a fatal accident. Troy played Right Wing and Chad played Goalie for Ron's Outdoor Nordique Team. Jeanette was a friend of Troy and Chad's and was a regular and enthusiastic fan at their hockey games." There is also a trophy on display which lists the 1989-1994 recipients of a memorial award for Most Sportsmanlike Team in the annual Edson Bantam A Tournament.
