Anita Janicek, age 81, of Needville, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
She was the heart of the family and found her greatest joy int the people she loved. Whether she was baking something delicious for a gathering, auction, or simply spending time together, her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome.
A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, where her beliefs guided the way, she lived and loved. She cherished the ranch life and was never happier than when she was around cows, wide-open land, and the simple pleasures of country living. She had a joyful spirit and a zest for life. She loved antiquing, polka dancing, and taking trips to the casinos in Louisiana. No matter where she went, she knew how to have a good time and made sure everyone around her did too.
Above all else, she will be remembered for her loving heart, her infectious joy, and the way she made every moment feel special. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the countless memories she created.
Anita is survived by Patrick Janicek (Sandra Wendt), Shilo Janicek (Michele), and Ryan Janicek (Jennifer). Granddaughters Judith and Josephine Rose. Family-Extended Alice May Blaha, Diana Naiser Orsak (Tommy), Annette Marie Henkes Naiser, Dorothy Naiser, Janice Labay, Margo Green, Chis Janicek (Sandra) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Luis (Butch) Janicek, her parents, her half brother Stanley Blaha, brothers Jerome J. Naiser, Rudy Naiser, Allen Naiser, Jimmie Naiser, Half sisters Lydia Rod, Emma Gates, and Grace Priesmeyer.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Dementia Society of America or St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Main St., Needville, Texas 77461
Those honored to serve as casket bearers are A.J Priesmeyer, Stanley (Bud) Blaha, Michael Naiser, Blake Labay, Bubba Schneider, and Jake Eversole.
The funeral mass was held at St. Michael’s Church in Needville on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Graveside services were at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Cemetary in New Taiton.
