Austin was my neighbor from about 7th grade. During those early years he built a go-cart (?)and entered Soap Box Derby. He won in El Paso and got a trip to national finals in Indianapolis. He did not win there but had a great time. He sent post cards about trip - and told me to be sure to keep the yard watered..
