Wow Melissa, You are gorgeous. Look forward to seeing you at the reunion. Save me some dances. If you score some replica Cher boots from your friend and give them to Mike, I think he will let me dance with you. Size 14 triple wide.

Melissa Mendez (Thompson)

Ok I just checked boys... Rik, Mike, and Ray I think that I might just be able to get you three a treo of matching boots with....are you ready for this?... Cher's face on the front and eachother's names on the back...are you good with that?

P.S. Yes Ray I would love to dance... but if they don't play all Cher you will have to dance anyway : )

Rik Avalos

Wow... I just checked the reunion attendees... there's only about 55 of us going? Where are the rest of you people?

08/11/08 07:40 PM #881

Rik Avalos

Melissa, no boots for me thanks. I've just returned from my OCD training and my Cher-boots obsession is over. (sigh) The electro-shock treatment is working!

Ray, you're either delusional or dishonest in implying you have even the slightest amount of rhythm that will pass for dancing. Apologize to Melissa right now for getting her hopes up, and make sure you sit next to me instead so that we can heckle everyone.

I'm Sorry Melissa...

Mario/Rik,
Guess my tone was a little too serious, as i was joking on the request for the 1040's. If success is gauged on cute kids, tho', you (Mario) win! (possibly tied w/ Dan McGill)
Rik, I'd vote you "Person most likely to see on a bus ad" anyday! Thanks for the laughs.

Melissa,
What were you presenting to 6,000 people in New Orleans? I hate to tell you now, but most girls only present to 6,000 people during Mardi Gras.

Melissa Mendez (Thompson)

Hi Jennifer...

That made me laugh outloud... : ) I work with Shaklee, a Health and Wellness Direct Selling Company. Our global headquarters is based in the Bay area. I am the Director of Sales for our U.S. Sales Force. We had our National Conference so I did a few of the presentations such as rolling out new programs to our Business Leaders as well as workshops on various programs too. We had a blast. Great people, and as my daughter would say..."good times, good times".

Jenn, LOL - I didn't take that seriously... I was just being tongue and cheek and needed a launching pad for my recently found campaign trail. In other words, I was being a complete smart a$$.

Mario Loya

Jenn, Again thanks for the compliment, but I think you win the success tag. You have two cute kids yourself and an awesome classic airstream travel trailer. If you ever need a classic truck to pull the trailer let me know.

08/12/08 03:59 PM #895

Rik Avalos

Mario, that truck freaking rules! Wow... do you collect classic cars? If so, my brother bought and restored a 67 vette. They painted it tuxedo black and it's awesome.

08/12/08 04:07 PM #896

Mario Loya

Thanks Rik. I'm not a collector just have always liked classic trucks. This is a completely original '49 Dodge that I drive on weekends to get breakfast or take the kids to the Dairy Queen. I would however like to add Jen Barr's travel trailer to my collection.

Dan Pedroza

That's a GREAT lookin' truck Mario! I wish i had room to add to our stall. Just for our grins, we're working on a 600hp LS6 V8 Miata ;) (basically a built motor from an '02 Z06 Corvette, shoe-horned into a '94 Miata chassis)

Michael, sorry i can't make the CenTex Reunion, I'll be at Texas Motor Speedway for a divisional :( if anyone's in the area, come check it out!

Reunion Attendees lists about 55 people yet on the classmate profiles we have 102 people saying they are going to the reunion.... Don't tell me 50 or so classmates waiting til the last minute...... come on now!!

08/13/08 11:10 AM #899

Jose Santos

Jeff, I so agree with you buddy. I have read some of the names and I really do hope to see them. Quit procrastinating "ALL Y'ALL"!!!!

08/13/08 12:41 PM #900

Mario Loya

Dan, That's nuts. I hope you install a roll cage and will be wearing a helmet when driving that Miata. If I ever decide to swap the 98 hp original flathead six from my truck to drop in a crate Hemi, I now know where to go.

08/13/08 01:22 PM #901

Dan Pedroza

mmmm crate hemi ;) we just worked on a 5.7L hemi in a Ram pickup that just dropped a valve. of course, they overheated the engine, but after we did the work it ran like a champ! that'd be a great project, bring it on!
