Ivonnette was our beloved Student Body President and was chosen All-Irvin Girl (the highest honor the faculty can give students) our senior year. Leadership was one of her many qualities as was being a scholar. She was a member of the High-Q, Academic Decathlon and many other organizations all through school.
Ivonnette died on January 26, 2004 of a cardiac abnormality. She is survived by her husband, Max (her homecoming date), and three daughters (Lucette 11, Marie 6, Therese 5).

Ivonne aka Ivonnette, was such a great friend and person. I am honored to have know her and glad she was part of my high school years. The chuckles, the laughs, and the side splitting laughs we shared during student council will always be part of me. God Bless.Derrick

Ah Ivonnette! My Student Council Nemisis! We hadsome great times in Student Council and Academic Decathlon! I'm not sure I warmed up to her personality
in High School, but I wanted to add this for her:
At the 10 yr reunion, I got to sit and talk to her
for a long time, and man I walked away seeing her
as very mature, upstanding, independent and family-oriented woman. It was such a pleasure to talk
to her, found out we were both into family, find out
how we mutually were jealous of each other at times,
and laughed it all away! I think that day we were
really "friends" She was a very lovable person.
At the end of the day, I wished her all the very
best. I wish her family, three daughters, all the
very best for them.

Ivonnette was one a group of us that were together starting in kindergarten at Edgar Park all the way through Irvin.Somewhere along the way a natural competitiveness took hold, but that always existed with grace, honor, and mutual respect. The pinnacle of that competitiveness was our close race for Student Body President.
Fond and funny memories from all of those years, from Mrs. Snyder and Mrs. Munoz's classes at Edgar Park to a surprise appearance by her in the men's locker room at the YMCA for a Student Council party (nobody more surprised than me).
It was a pleasure to catch up with her at the 10-year reunion and meet her beautiful young family. It certainly makes you realize how you must cherish each day with your family when someone you grew up with passes at such a young age.

Ivonette was a lovely person. I can remember the school dances we went, riding in her dad's model t car on Sunday's, being jealous of her when she got a Mustang to drive as her first car!( I had an orange Gremlin! Yikes)Everyone knew Ivonette, she was in every club and organization in High School. We had lost contact through the years and rekindled our friendship at the 10 yr reunion. I was saddenned to know about her death, as I'm sure alot of you were. I still have alot of fond memories of her.

I will never forget her smile and her laugh! When she moved back to El Paso, I had bumped into her with her beautiful children. We exchanged numbers but never got in touch with each other...something I will always regret.
