Hi Mack, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I really had no choice I do love music and the whole idea of playing jazz being able to create your own solos I was completely fascinated.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started playing music when I was very very young and continue to uptown today if we ever get through the coronavirus and get some work again. But I’m doing some recording projects from home now. You always have to adopt I’ve moved many times I lived in El Paso Texas growing up went to summer camps in Carlsbad California .Went to the University of New Mexico State and University of North Texas. I taught in many universities and schools in the New Jersey New York area..Taught also at the University of Berlin ,El Paso Conservatory of music, Onate High school in Las Cruces New Mexico and Cathedral high school in El Paso. You have to be very flexible as a music teacher you have to move where there’s work. Also as a jazz musician I’ve lived all over these places and enjoyed every one of them and playing for the people there
