Jeannie led a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication. As the wife of a career army officer, she took pride in making a home wherever the army sent her husband. She started her journey as a devoted housewife and mother until her oldest child graduated high school when she parlayed her passion for books and reading into teaching full time outside of the house. Among Jeannie's proudest accomplishments was her teaching career that spanned across Massachusetts, Texas, and even Japan. Her commitment and dedication were evident in every role she embraced.
Jeannie's high school years at Irvin High School were marked by active participation in ROTC, singing groups, cheerleading, and representing the El Paso Garden club by winning the crown in the Maid-of-Cotton pageant. Throughout her life, Jeannie created countless beautiful memories. She adored the summer camps in Ruidoso, New Mexico, particularly enjoying the horsemanship activities there. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore various travel destinations and vacation spots where she cherished special moments with her loved ones.
Known for her kind and congenial nature, Jeannie was a peacemaker who lived by the Golden Rule - always treating others with kindness and respect. In her free time, she indulged in hobbies such as art, gardening, decorating, reading, shopping, attending bible study meetings. She was involved in various organizations throughout her life, including the Officers Wives Club, the Retired Officers Association, the Sojourners, Chi Omega Sorority, and her church community at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Her faith illuminated her path in all aspects of her life.
