Carrie Salandro Goretzka, who was a member of the EF class of 88 passed away today, June 5, 2009. Please spread the word to let her classmates know. Arrangments will be through Gilbert Funeral Home in little Boston.
Carrie was my first truest best friend with a heart of gold. I have so many wonderful memories that we made together. We lost contact before her death which made it very hard because Ididnt get the chance to tell her what a beautiful person she was and what a difference she made in my life. She gave so much of herself from the time I met her in 8th grade. We called ourselves the Care/KareBears because we loved them so much and would get so excited when we heard there was a new one coming out.
Carrie left behind a wonderful husband Michael Goretzka. She was the love of his life since May 1987. She also left behind 2 beautiful daughters Chloe and Carlie. Michael has shared alot of stories with me since she passed away about what a wonderful wife and mother she was. She leaves behind her parents and Michaels family who loved and adored her.
She will forever be a part of me and Im so thankful for all the times we did have together.
Today I saw my GF's sister in law and I it brought chills to my whole body when I took a second look. I saw you in her. I've thought this for a long time but only see on special occasions. This time it was a good peaceful feeling but there's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I miss you CareBear. I wanna say so much to you. I wanna hear your voice and most of all I want to tell you for all the time we lost together I never forgot you. You're death has changed me and made me a better person. I will never stop missing you. How could I? You were my first best friend who loved me for who I am and loved life and always tried to see the best in people. Its so hard to find these people days.
Forever in my thoughts. XO
To all the graduating class and esp. the ones I reconnected with on FB, who Im sure know, Im no longer on FB please say a prayer for Carrie, her two precious daughters and her loving husband as the 2nd anniversary of her tragic death is near-June 5. Thank You!
