Carol (Suzie) Haner (Batterson)

Carol "Suzie" (Haner) Batterson, 72,  a native of Elmira, NY and long-time resident of Troy, PA passed away on December 24, 2024. Born in 1952 to the late Floyd & Elizabeth (Drake) Haner, Sr., Suzie was a passionate & vivacious person.  She held a variety of positions across her life, including manager of the Troy Vet's Club, press operator at a printing company in Horseheads, many years of work at the Towanda DMV, and serving as a "Safety Sitter" at the Troy Guthrie Hospital.  In her free time, Suzie loved playing bingo, and enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and collecting hummingbirds & lighthouses.  But above all, she was dedicated to her family, and found great joy in raising her sons and chasing around all the kids in her life!  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Regina Haner, and her dear friend Gayle Casselberry.  She is survived by: her beloved husband of nearly 33 years, Lewis "Butch" Batterson; her sons - Larry Carl Gleason II, Brett Darwin Gleason (partner Tammy Reed), and Bryan Darwin Gleason (Lori Jo).  Her siblings - Floyd D. Haner, Jr, James Leland Haner (Melanie), and Tina Marie Wood (John).  Her step-children - Lissa marie Chapdelaine (Mark), Tammy Jo Frost (Leroy), James Edward "Frog" Batterson (Christy), and Sherri Lynn Batterson.  Her grandchildren - Madison R. Gleason, Edward C. Gleason, Elizabeth Kay Marie Gleason, Wyatt Gleason (Christine), and Jordan Gleason.  Her step-grandchildren - Jason Ayres, Rucia Lundy, Leigha Jo Hicks, Rae Ann Rathbun, MicKenzie Bussom, Matthew Sargeant (Amanda), Tyler James Frost (Kaylee), Austin Frost (Krystle), Sarah Jo Frost, Elliott Batterson, Emily Batterson, Korynn Batterson, Devin Batterson (Angel), Brook Batterson, Anna Jean Kerr, and Jesse James Kerr.  Four great-granddaughters; one great-great grandson (and one on the way). Her sister-in-law Beverly Smith (Bill); her long-time best friend Sheila (Osenbaugh) Hewitt; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends; her two dogs Chase & Boe and her three cats Marley, Zip & Jeep. Calling hours & memorial service on January 4th at Olthof Funeral Home, Elmira NY.
