WILLIAM EUGENE OWENS   

Age 71, of Homosassa, Florida, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 18, 2024.  He was born February 20, 1952 in Elmira, NY, son of Oliver "Pete" and Cora (Austin) Owens.  He was a US Army Veteran and worked as a truck driver in the trucking industry.  Mr. Owens recently moved to Homosassa, Florida from Elmira, NY four years ago.  William loved music, and could play any type of guitar whether it be electric, acoustic, steel or bass.  He also enjoyed interacting with people and loved spending time with his family.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Horseheads, NY, the Worship Team at his church in NY and at Nature Coast Church in Homosassa.  Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents, Pete & Cora Mae Owens and is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cathy A. Owens of Homosassa, Fl;  daughters Stephanie K. Owens of Elmira, NY and Crystal L. (Michael) Marley of Elmira Heights, NY;  sister, Dionne (Richard) Schwartz of Naples, FL;  5 grandchildren, "Best Buddy" Christopher M. Owens, Kayla (Joseph) M. Liotino, Tiffany L. Brinson, Nathaniel R. Marley, and Karson M. Marley;  4 great-grandchildren, and a host of several cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.  William was beloved by all and will always be cherished for his loving heart.
