Andrew Fife

Andrew E. Age 62, of Elmira, surrounded by his loving family and friends, died, after a prolonged battle with renal cell cancer, on Friday, February 2, 2007. Andy was born December 12, 1944, a son of the late Earl W. and Violet (Landon) Fife. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shirley Zimmer Fife; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew E., II and Caroline Fife of Elmira, with their sons, Andrew E. Fife, III and Garrett R. Fife; brother and sister-in-law, Mark J. and Diane Fife of Elmira with children, Amanda and Jonathan; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Stephen Nugent of Horseheads; niece, Tamara Carroll, with husband Rick of Horseheads; along with other nieces and nephews. Andy was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving his country during the Viet Nam War. He attended Eastern Nazarene College in Boston and graduated from Elmira College. Andy had a long career in the banking industry and was currently employed with Tioga State Bank as the Waverly Branch Manager. He loved cars, was an avid street rodder, and a member of the Chemung Valley Street Rods. Andy thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his fellow Street Rod members. Andy also loved the game of baseball, both as a fan and player. He was a member of the American Institute of Banking and served on the local board of directors. Andy was also a member of the Waverly Rotary Club and the Calvary Church of the Nazarene, where he served on the church board.
